Get your Startup off the ground and rolling towards your target markets.
Storm Peak Innovations provides $18k of startup resources specific to your company, access to our incubator, development and marketing consultation, access to our Mentor network, and assistance in setting yourself up here in Steamboat. In exchange for these services, we ask for an equity share in your new startup (5-10%). This means we are in it with you to make your startup a success. We run 2 sessions a year, one in Winter (January-March) and one in Summer (June-August). We average between 3-5 startups per session.

Q: What does Storm Peak Innovations offer to new Startups who are selected to join the program?
A: Our package includes approximately $5-6k of Startup resources per founder to compensate for housing, travel, recreation, and getting your feet off the ground. This includes items such as special housing leases, ski area passes, season ski equipment rentals, cash, etc. We will customize the offer based on season (Winter/Summer) and the individuals in the Startup. We will fund up to 3 founders with up to $18k of startup resources.
Q: Do you have a standard agenda for your incubation program?
A: We have a standard agenda that we use as a starting point, however each session is customized to the specifc startup’s needs. We cover a range of topics in the first 5 weeks, then break into more one on one consultation with each startup. This is covered by the principals and our guest mentor network. Q: Why Steamboat Springs and do I have to incorporate there?
A: We hope you enjoy the world class skiing, snowboarding and winter recreation; but there is no requirement to stay permanently. After your session the Startup is yours, and you can go on your way. Back home or to a new destination.
Q: Are you looking for a certain type of Startup?
A: Our expertise is focused on high tech software in the graphics and open source areas. However we do not limit our selections to this area and will accept all good technology based ideas.
Q: What does the Storm Peak Innovations Center have to offer?
A: Conference rooms to meet with fellow developers, Mentors and potential customers. High speed wireless internet, high end graphics displays with a Digital Art Gallery, workplaces, private spaces to conduct phone conferences, and an amazing view of the local Yampa Valley. We’re right off the bike path, walking distance to Howelson Hill, and a 5 minute free bus shuttle to Mt Werner.
Q: What are the travel options to Steamboat Springs?
A: The Yampa Valley Regional Airport is 25 miles away and has connection flights to major hubs such as Denver, Chicago, Altanta, etc. Denver International Airport is approximately a 3 hour drive from Steamboat Springs.
